It would be nice if in political debate we could all just think independently and engage in open minded discussion with the true intention of finding common ground. I believe that if W had advocated for universal health care most of the right would have followed him or at most simply disagreed with him. On the other hand if a Democrat promotes the idea of universal health care the right reacts as though he just suggested an unconditional surrender to Uzbekistan.
Would it be possible for our friends on the right to just give us their thoughts and opinions rather than simply conveying to us the rantings of Fox news and Rush Limbaugh.
